Ask a question
Type it the way you would say it. The words are read against this site's own vocabulary — age groups, competitions, states, roles, weekends and statistics — and turned into one query. Whatever is not understood is listed rather than quietly dropped, and the SQL is shown.
Understood: age groups (u16, under 14), states, roles
(openers, keepers, all-rounders), competitions by name
(green shield, first grade, premier cricket), formats
(t20, one day, two day), weekends
(this weekend, next weekend, saturday), flags
(internationals, div 1 reps, u19 australia), career numbers
(averaging over 40, 20+ wickets, top 20) and single innings
(a century, hit 150, under a run a ball). Anything left over
is searched for as a name, so a word this site does not know narrows the answer instead of
quietly widening it.
For anything else — sixes in an innings, comparisons, counts by club — press ✨ Ask AI. The AI model on this site's own server first tries to reword the question into the words above; if it cannot, it writes the query itself and shows it to you.
Not understood, on purpose: bowling style. players.bowling_style is filled in for
about a hundred players out of 707,565, so “spinners in NSW” would return a dozen internationals
and read as though that were the answer.
